Advice from Jimo – 3 tips on how to serve a perfect beer

Having a beer may seem one of the simplest things to do. However we know that people are paying attention to how their beer is being taken. Serving it well is important to satisfy the tastes of the most demanding customers. Check out these simple tips on how to make the perfect beer.

1 – Make sure the glass is clean
Residue may ruin the drink of your client. The glasses, in some low-temp dishwashers, are sanitized more by chemicals rather by the hot water. Chemicals could leave chlorine deposits on the glass that will ruin the beer´s foamy head.

2 – Hold the glass at 45º Angle
Experts argue that, when pouring the beer, you should hold the glass at a 45º angle. Then open the tap fully and quickly and let the liquid flow. When falling, the beer should hit the center of the glass and slip into the bottom. This prevents too much head on the beer. When you have 2/3 of the glass full you may straighten the glass to form the foam.

3 – Control the size of the beer’s foam
Normally, we can say that about ½ inch is the ideal height of the foam to better notice all flavors. However some people rather prefer more or less foam. To control the amount of foam you should increase or decrease the distance from the glass to the tap.
These tips may cause to your client the “ahhh ” sound of satisfaction at the end of each sip, that we know so well.
